I'm sure that's part of it. Besides Iraqis are individually well-armed (every house has an AK47 for self protection) because there is absolute chaos in their country. Since heroin is traveling through Iraq destined for Europe, obviously the borders are quite porous. Two years ago, 10K pilgrims/month were being allowed to cross from Iran. After Saddam fell, that increased by 10X's. There must be arms passing into Iraq from, well, everywhere. That would mean endless guerilla warfare in the now predictable on again, off again pattern. ===== Hey, it's 3 months until Iraq Constitution time and two weeks until bombing Iran time. Hmmmm. Wonder if those timetables will be kept.
