A Hollywood director expressed anti-Bush, anti-military and anti-American sentiments at Cannes? I'm shocked!

It's still just a series of sci-fi flics with a good versus evil story line. To believe that the emperor and the empire represent Bush and the USA still requires that you go into the movies already holding the beliefs that Bush is a would-be emperor from the "dark side", that the USA is a budding militaristic empire, and that the American people are a bunch of gullible morons falling into an evil trap. I don't doubt that many in Hollywood, perhaps even Lucas, believe those things, but I don't, so to me it's just a sci-fi story.
