So, do we believe James Bonds' boss or do we believe the most dishonest White House since Nixon? Decisions, decisions. Even Tony Blair did not deny the accuracy of the memo. He simply said it was nothing new. My favorite excuse from "The Excuse President" is that Iraq was to blame because they wouldn't cooperate with weapons inspectors by showing them where the WMD were located. Since there were no WMD, that would be a kind of tough request to fulfill. 100,000 Iraqis and 1600+ Americans later, it is kind of a big "oops" on the part of the Busheviks.

Which is the difference between the rightwing and the rest of the world.... Newsweek, although realistically it didn't have to in this hostile political climate, retracted the Koran story. Who in the world could prove it wasn't true especially as other media sources had also reported it? Newsweek's source is annonymous. As far as anyone knows, two individual Pentagon officials said it was true AND the WH and the Pentagon didn't say a word about it until after the protests spun out of control....11 whole days. This is where, IMO, the rightwing always win this kind of propaganda war. They're willing to lie, cheat, steal, kill and demolish this country in order to win. That leaves the playing field like this: Progressives and moderates have to be PERFECT. Any hiccup, gets them pasted by the rightwing propaganda machine. They then do a soul searching mea culpa IN PUBLIC and it looks like they're wrong and biased...to the average American. Rightwingers are never PERFECT or truthful. They don't care, they know that as long as you say something often enough and long enough it eventually passes for truth. Note that even on these threads, rightwingers don't do any research. They make their comments and progressives and moderates always come up with the facts and sources. The rightwingers, lazy bums that they are, then pooh pooh the facts or disappear and wait for a new topic.
