I don't think a fetus has rights until it is born. Until that time it may be protected by the mother's rights, but has none of it's own.

There is much more to life than human embryos.

"Solon swears those rights are derivable from an Atheistic world view and do not rely on a Theistic understanding. Do you disagree with that?"

I don't believe I "swear" to anything. It is common knowledge that all creatures have innate self interest and immanent biological imperatives for survival. In lesser creatures these senses of "entitlement" may be nore genetically programmed than they are in humans.

In any case--it is prima facie that survival is a biological imperative and that human reason justifies such a civilized value. This human perspective says nothing about fundamental human value or importance in the universe over time: it simply verifies that our ideas are self centered and self absorbed..and that people always fantasize about sex!

Oh--BTW...somebody said you "CARED" about eggs? I see nothing wrong with that if it is true. But IS it true? DO you CARE about eggs?

"Solon swears those rights are derivable from an Atheistic world view and do not rely on a Theistic understanding"

They are a combination of biological self interest for survival and a recognition that human beings may only optimize survival when they cooperate to mutual self interest. Hence--REASON may guide us to a value system of RIGHTS and RESPONSIBILITIES within our communities of cooperation.

It is all so simple. Go to church AND SPEAK WITH A SHEPARD!
