Now they're going after the Brits (Galloway) for this. They're going for a record: Bush et al, the most hated administration in history.

"...British MP George Galloway has told US senators who accused him of profiting from Iraq oil dealings their claims were the "mother of all smokescreens".

In a combative performance before a Senate committee, the Respect Coalition MP accused the US lawmakers of being "cavalier" with justice.

He said: "I am not now nor have I ever been an oil trader and neither has anyone on my behalf."...http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/4556113.stm

Senate report found that US oil purchases accounted for 52% of the kickbacks paid to the regime in return for sales of cheap oil

but, but, but... I thought it was George Galloway and the Russians who made all the money on illegal oil deals in Iraq? Not the USA companies buying the oil, passing on kickbacks back the the regime, and then selling on the oil to the dumb consumer for a profit??

Somebodies telling me a fib. Not sure who yet, but no way do I believe that USA companies made 52% of the profits selling on illegal Iraqi oil. No way.... well hang on a minute, that sounds so normal and plausible it probably is true. What the does the USA press have to say about this controversy?
