Tuesday May 17, 4:00 am ET
Agilent 4072B Chosen to Perform High-Performance/High-Density DRAM Test

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2005-- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A - News) today announced that ProMOS Technologies (5387.TWO) has selected the Agilent 4072B Parametric Test Solution for its 12-inch wafer Fab III at the Central Taiwan Science Park, Taiwan. ProMOS chose the 4072B to test its high-performance commodity DRAM because the unit offers both substantial speed and performance improvements.

ProMOS is a leading semiconductor-memory solution provider headquartered in Hsin-chu, Taiwan. The company, many of whose customers are Fortune 500 companies, is known for its high-performance DRAM products, manufacturing excellence and advanced technologies. In September 2003, ProMOS won Taiwan's "National Technology Advancement" award, the sole winner from Taiwan's semiconductor industry. The net sales of ProMOS rose to a record high in 2004 to nearly $1.4 billion, with net income exceeding $323 million.

"We chose the Agilent 4072B over competing test solutions because Agilent provides a superior level of support resources and a proven factory-automation solution," said Rebecca Tang, vice president of R&D at ProMOS. "We also factored in the established, successful relationships Agilent has with similar companies in our industry and found that working with Agilent just made good business sense."

"We are happy to provide ProMOS the equipment it needs to drive its branded products, technology and services to market quickly and at low cost," said Minoru Ebihara, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Hachioji Semiconductor Test Division, Automated Test Group. "The 4072B sale to ProMOS reinforces our established position in the 300mm fabrication plants in Taiwan, Greater China and southern Asia Pacific."
