Abstinence only education is a proven failure. It results in higher rates of STD's and unwanted pregnancies. Why? because the repressive in-denial rightwing Christians refuse to teach birth control and lie about condoms working. So when kids finally do have sex they don't use them, and often make up for lost time by getting more promiscuous. Denying the sexual desires and needs of young human beings is just plain dishonest. In Africa some tribes cut off womens clitorises at birth to try and stop sex. it still doesn't work. Just keeps women from enjoying sex. Which is one thing the religious right tries to do as well. Using guilt trips, ignorance and phony disinformation. They don't want us to enjoy sex, even if we're married. The "pro-lifer" don't really care about peoples' lives. They just care about making sure no one has any fun, since they never did.
