The problem with the Internet is that far too many infantile intellects think that they have carte blanche to expose to the world just how ignorant they are. These adolescents are a waste of mine and your time and someone must provide adult supervision for the children. Otherwise SI and the Internet becomes nothing but a Tower of Babel. I have to say that there are a few, very few well spoken defenders of the the indefensible on SI. What I mean by that is that I can count on one hand the number of people that are still defending George Bush, doing so with a straight face and making even a modicum of good sense. Of course, they are all morally reprehensible, as is the monstrously evil Bush himself. But the level of discourse uttered as support for Bush on SI is appalling, in large measure. It is the most ignorant among us who are the most ready defenders of George Bush. This is truly a despicable situation for America to find itself in, much akin to the situation of Hitler's vast popularity among the Brown Shirts of Germany. As Santayana suggests, those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it. Just as the Brown Shirts were transformed into the Shock Troops at the head of the German assaults, the Brown Shirts of America now die a the tip of the spear in Iraq and elsewhere around the world (in largely unreported guerrilla conflicts) and are ruining America's reputation as the beacon of freedom and liberty. Today, most of the world understands the U.S. to be a completely immoral, illegal, imperial criminal operation. That's what the childish supporters of George Bush need to get through their pointy little heads.
