What we have today is an unmitigated disaster for democracy and a total fraud being perpetrated upon the People of the United States. In 2000, Gore Vidal was part of a rump Democratic Party convention in L.A. He was brilliant in describing our present irredeemably corrupt system as the two right wings of the Corporate Party vying for their piece of the loot. As Henry Mencken described it so perfectly decades ago, "every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods."
