Philippines food sucked! And the beautiful ocean waters are full of jellyfish this time of year... One of the best things about traveling with little preparation is that things don't turn out to be the same as you imagine before you start. That's when you have to look at the details just to get around and help break the cycle of thinking that your expectations are reality. My brother went to Manilla, the first day it rained so hard that the street flooded and his taxi was stuck in 3 feet of water. The taxi driver left the cab, took his bag, and they walked on the roof of cars to higher ground, all the while with stuck drivers shaking the fist at them and yelling. He said he's never looked at a ride from the airport the same way again. TP
