I don't think that Professor Willard espouses an evangelical university. What he does in my view is to assert the right of an intellectual community to consider as valid for reflection and research the basic religious tenets on which the very foundations of Western Civilization are based. Secular America has banished all considerations of a faith based intellectual life as beneath the dignity of the human mind. It is this intolerance against which Professor Willard preaches.
