The school's opposition to military recruitment seems, in part, a result of parents' growing realization that tax money spent for the Iraq war is money not spent on children's educations or other domestic needs.

I wish a lot more people would start thinking like this. Most people seem to think the federal budget is an infinite resource without tradeoffs.

This is one part of the article I don't agree with. It's more like that parents have come to the growing realization that their children will be at risk of being killed or maimed...for a bull shit pie in the sky mission.

What just shocks the hell out of me is the proviso that you don't get aid "under no child left behind' if you don't allow recruiters on high school campuses. How is that any different from the Iranians sending their 14 year olds in to fight the war against Iraq? We want to take our future and send them over to fight a war that is becoming the black hole of death and of money pissed away.

This nightmare is turning very ugly.
