C2, I was kidding about the "even" being in the wrong place, pretending that everyone was upset because he misplaced an even, which was actually you putting it where you did. Then I put in a preposition at the end of a sentence and complained about people doing that [I think it's a preposition, but maybe it's a participle - I have no idea which is which].

Now that I reflect more on what he said, the insult wasn't really to the melanin-rich, it was work-snobbery and insulting to people with low ranking jobs, which is what I find offensive.

It really annoys me that people act all superior to people doing what they consider low status jobs. There's an old joke about the body and the various body parts arguing over who was most important. Of course the brain, the heart, lungs, feet, hands, eyes and ears had good cases for being top dog. The lowly anal sphincter [aka arsehole] was scoffed at, denigrated [which is not a racist term] and ignored.

So the anal sphincter went on strike. Pretty soon, the brain could think of nothing else, the eyes were crossed, the heart was pounding with stress, the hands were shaking etc. The rest of them gave up and admitted that the A-hole definitely had an important job.

What Fox was saying was that people doing jobs like that are so low that only [note correct position of only] illegal, desperate, poverty-stricken Mexicans will do them. Not even Negroes or women will do the jobs [maybe I should give Women a capital letter too].

That's not offensive to Negroes, or women, because it's already accepted in the USA that people of lots of colour [no capitals] and women, need affirmative action because they are not as good as other people. Note that he is correct and it is indeed Mexicans doing the jobs that Mexicans are doing.

It looks like a storm in a teacup and mountain out of a molehill to me. Which is always fun to argue about and get on high horses about. Finding offence these days is a major industry. Mishandling a Koran or USA flag is so offensive it's worth killing people over. Taking offense is important because it's a way of showing how important one is.

Those at the bottom of the heap don't have the luxury of taking offence. They can't afford a lawyer for a start. They are busy doing jobs even Negroes AND Mexicans won't do, trying to earn a crust.

I've done all sorts of jobs and I find it offensive that what I've done is looked down on by those who think they are superior.

Thanks for the translation.
