That's why 13 commandments got boiled down to 10 somehow and why the list in Exodus is different than the list in Deutoronomy.

If you care ....
The real reason they lists are different is that in 434 BCE the Babylonians attacked Jerusalem and captured a large number of inhabitants, about 10,000 including the high priests. An even larger number was left in Jerusalem and they setup a new line of high priests. The two groups remained separate for about 70 years and during this time the traditions changed and the text of the torah changed. (It was maintained by some that the group traveling to Babylon did not have possesion of the torah and so rewrote it from memory).

When some of the priests returned with their new torahs a crisis began over which was the true work of Moses or the true word of God. They hashed it over in a conference commitee and came out with the torah that we know today (along with copy procedures which led to more exact copies). Some chapters were blended, and some, such as the 10 commandments were included in both forms.

Footnote:
There was still a large Jewish community left in Babylon and they were using the torah from babylon. When Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 CE this torah again gained influence, mostly through the commentary.
