Without PBS, where would Charlie Rose run? He can't run an hour long talkshow anywhere else except, maybe C-SPAN. We fund PBS AND, worse yet, it's somehow seen as 'liberal' or at least 'nonpartisan' and its become anything but. I figure the RNC will want to pressure all shows to be even more rightwing so I figure Frontline and the mini NOW and the McLaughlin group might go bye-bye if they can't do the NBC thingy: a minimum 2-to-1 rightwing-to-leftwing representation and worse when there's a strong liberal like Moore...it's more like 4-to-1 for him. Heard that the first Clear Channel station to take on Air AMerica in Portland, OR increased its listenership 400% almost immediately. I agree, people want to be entertained rather than preached to so it's better to fund for-profit progressive media than political organizations.
