Wrong. Bush, after all the Diebold and ES&S voter fraud, the intimidation, the lack of machines, and the counting errors squeaked by with the LOWEST % of any incumbent President in history.

On the morning of the election, Rove and Bush KNEW they had lost. They were deeply, deeply depressed and their campaigns were funereal.

I have no problem counting or even having a full revote in Washington or any other election that is that close. At this point, it appears that recounting is a waste of time.

I suspect that Washington does not have the money or, perhaps, the interest in a revote but it would be FINE BY ME.

Unlike Republicans, I (who am not a Dem either) prefer to see as many people vote as is humanly possible. Of course Republicans are well aware that the more people vote, the more Republicans are squashed into the gutter pretty much where they belong.

:)

Therefore, Republicans try to squash the vote in places like universities by providing a couple of machines for thousands of registered voters thus guaranteeing that people will give up and leave and never vote.

We MUST HAVE:

1. VOTE BY MAIL. This is a state by state issue. At the least, encourage 100% voting by absentee.

2. 100% Publicly funded campaigns --- all of them. It can be done. Heck even the idiot state of Texas has a law about the use of corporate campaign funds which, with luck, will send DeLay to JAIL.

3. 20 year moratorium on government employees (elected or otherwise) getting anything from any industry they had a hand in regulating

=======The US looks ridiculous and hopeless in the eyes of the rest of the world. It took just 5 years to get to this sorry state of affairs.

BTW: Iraq = civil war
