you may be blinded by your view that republicans will be in power forever and dems never could win control of the senate and presidency again. That is not my view. I am blinded by the fact that the US Senate, indeed our entire country, is supposed to be ruled by voting results. We have sufficient corrective measures available for those times we may make an error when casting our votes. That includes mechanisms to remove judges. We do not need US Senators who refuse to vote on issues properly presented to them. They can argue. They can debate. But, in the end, they have to vote to accomplish their job and earn their pay.
