In the scenario my friend gave, i suspect bush will be compelled to pick a scotus nominee that is at least acceptable to dems and not a stick in the eye type. I think yesterday you called Ginsburg a radical. I would maintain that it was because she wasnt that the republicans didnt actively campaign against her. There are nice conservatives out there that are good jurists and will get bipartisan support. All bush needs to do is pick a clone of Renquist and not a Bork. No big deal and it gives bush some credibility with the moderates who you will some day need again to win. Only Howard Dean and confrontational republicans stands in the way of moderates moving to the dems at sometime in the future. mike
