I wonder, could rockhead have identified the tubes?

Until they were cast into the national spotlight, did rockhead know centrifuges had aluminum tubes or did not have them?

Until the media has played up all the statements rockhead parrots and acts as if they are his own thoughts, did he have thoughts?

Your attitude is that you "knew" these things and any idiot should have known these things too. When in reality, you are getting the basis for your arguments and all your "knowledge and expertise" from the media. You discount Newsweek and their responsibility for what occurred due to their article, would you have done the same if Drudge had run the article instead of Newsweek? Or would you be calling for his head? What if it had been Fox news?

I think there is a lot of one sidedness and purposeful blindness by you. AS is intolerable in this regard and you are close to it's level.

Arab News 1 - Newsweek 0

The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler
By gturner on Middle East

My favorite writer for the Arab News weighs in on the Newsweek situation. He shows infinitely more wisdom than Michael Isikoff.

Chewing the cud is not for certain animals only: Humans do it with words. Just like animals, we sit back and regurgitate the fodder in order to process it better. What we don’t understand we repeat, what we cannot understand we chant, what we do not want to understand we twist. All the while, the words are being perverted and mashed into a palpable form for digestion.

The benefit and/or harm from an animal chewing the cud is limited to the animal alone. When we do it with words, we harm and/or benefit ourselves, our neighbors, and other people as well. You’d think we’d be more careful with our sublime words. Sixteen people died and tens injured because Newsweek chose to chew its cud without verifying its source. Is an apology enough?

His answer is surprising. Enlightened civilization has profound advocates across the world.

Time to Duck and Cover

If I were stuck in Iran right about now, I'd be stockpiling food, water and firearms. Not that invasion is necessarily eminent, although Condi's sabre-rattling is not a good sign. It's because the Bushco Godsquad has taken it in the chops the past couple of days. With Jerry's post on stem cell adoption and the disarming (although temporary) of the nucular option, the good folks on the side of the Lord have gotten a whuppin' from those secular folks to whom liberty, principles and consensus politics matter.

So now it's Rove Diversion Time (RDT). Let's see, the Cuss in Chief's poll numbers are hovering around 43%. Big Dog Frist screwed the pooch for Doc Dobson while his comrades' approval ratings are sliding south of 35%. What's a protege of Lee Atwater to do? Boy Howdy, go kick some Iranian butt and scare the crap out of America. Condi and Rummy'll crank up that fake WMD smoke machine, feign outrage, phony up stories of international cooperation-- create another coalition of the willing and the bombs will drop on Tehran no later than July 15. Any bets? posted by Leftcoast 10:37 PM Comment (1)
