Volker may have saved the U.S. financial system, but in the process he created a giant bubble in the dollar, which was the beginning of the end for U.S. manufacturing. The same thing is happening in Europe now. The ECB is the world's only moderately sane central bank and Europe's reward is an overvalued currency which is strangling Euro manufacturers.
