One could only NOT be optimistic if they thought the people of the ME were somehow different than we are. Everyone should enjoy liberty. And those who do not, who grow up ignorant under a totalitarian regime and are spoon-fed hatred, what can we expect of them but ruthless behavior? Only if you believe that people are not the same all over, would you have cause NOT to be optimistic about the future, Iraq or elsewhere. Freedom is the natural state of man. Just look at the people flooding our borders to see whether or not this is true.
