i think i was reading in california the income to support the median price home purchase is 110,000....thats nutty...

It depends on the area. It's substantially above the median for this area for a single income, and is above many family incomes. $50k for a family of 4 means they can buy a house and a new car every few years. Not a fancy house or Lexus for the cars, but...


The average median in the country is $65k. If $50k is substantially above the median in your area, then you must be in a city smaller than 200k.
