Part of the liberal mantra is if you don't adopt their enlightened views you are a closed minded SOB. There's nothing inherently liberal or conservative about closed mindedness. Closed mindedness comes in many flavors. The closed minded are conspicuous in their unwillingness to listen. They don't want to hear anything that challenges their mind set. If they do, they simply rebuff it. They respond to points made by others by repeating their points rather than to engage, to ask questions so as to better understand what is being offered, to better counter what is offered, to show interest and respect. They decline to answer questions about their own POV, to offer any rationale or amplification or explanation. Their POV either has no explanation or needs no explanation. Closed mindedness is easy to spot. It can't be hidden in ideology.
