Could it be mish is right on the deflation/inflation debate?

I commented here some time ago about the huge buildup in lumber at the countries largest mill. That buildup apparently was a result of a lack of railcars. There is a similar buildup in lumber right now. To give support to the thinking that there might be more supply than demand, was a new large handwritten sign outside of the local Home Depot. The sign said "we have cut our lumber prices". When I ask a manager what that was all about (they're all managers there <g>), she said they are trying to compete. Reminds me of the "rollback" message at Wallyworld - except this stuff - lumber - is made here!
