Because its good for the country? I think the partisan fighting has gotten to a point that is very dangerous. Government may shut down again because dems will cripple senate. You will say well then lets let the voters decide. Fair enough but after two years of supergridlock who will those voters blame--the folks who went to the wall for 2 judges or the folks who went to the wall for the filibuster. IMO neither as most americans will say a pox on both your houses (of congress as well as parties) and as the disenchantment grows with leg, parties and president over iraq et al, we head into dangerous waters. Need a bridge over trouble waters to be constructed and not by simon and garfunkel but by frist and reid. mike
