But that was not CB's orignial point, which she has deftly avoided. She simplistically said that judges were liberals--untrue--because they are part of the "intelligentsia"--also untrue.

The point as presented reminded me of Geo. Wallace's sobriquet for folks who have read a few books in their lives--"pointy headed intellectuals" who are also liberal politically--which was just as unfair and untrue as CB's point. No pun intended.

Between 41, 43 and Reagan, there is a huge legacy of conservative federal judges who are lifetime appointees.

Seven of the nine members of the Supreme Court were appointed by Republicans. Since 1969, 13 Supreme Court justices. Eleven of the 13 were appointed by GOP Presidents. Scalia and Thomas were not Clinton Justices and they are rabid right wingers. "Intelligentsia," too. Well, maybe not Thomas. vbg. Hope he's not reading.

It was this pointy headed liberal "intelligentsia" that gave us W and not Gore.

Since 1969, the GOP has appointed 211 judges wehile Dems have appointed 122. The same pattern obtains at the trial court level--813 GOP to 508 Dems since 1969.

OK, I can go on and on, but I think refuting the point is too easy.
