It's an offensive. And it's sustained. It's a sustained offensive. For the most part its neither. The few offensives are over with quickly. Scattered small attacks do not amount to a sustained offensive. Quantum theory... an observer changes the observed. If you had skin in the game the facts would certainly change for you. Even if my opinion about Iraq as a whole changed to something like "we should leave now, and we never should have been there in the first place", which is unlikely, my opinion on the semantic issue we have been discussion would not, and if it did the new opinion would be in error.
