That is actually a pretty funny line. No connection to the real world, but only the reality-based care about stuff like that.

Pork is a bipartisan thing. The Republicans probably get more pork for their districts now because they are in power, when the Democrats had power they did the same thing and they'll do it again when they take over at some point. Both sides get pork all the time but the party in charge gets more of it.
