Ted the difference between "a problem" and "a way of life" is not a subtle nitpicking difference. The terms mean very different things both when considered in isolation and when applied to the context of our conversation.

Let me clean this one up. After reading today's articles on a secret Army report, I now do believe its a way of life for the current US military operation. I am unclear whether it was SOP in the past but it definitely is now.

Unfortunately, that level of torture seems to be SOP by American troops in Afghanistan, Iraq and Gitmo.

I'd have to disagree with you there.

Then we definitely have to disagree. I have heard too many instances of horrendous tortures to believe they are isolated events. Something is very wrong with the US military.
