In the context of this thread, which is to expose reality defying opinions, unsubstantiated opinions or assertions are not welcome. If any opinion or assertion is challenged on this thread, I expect it to be backed up with credible evidence that can be independently verified. If not, I expect the opinion or assertion to be retracted. Those who refuse to abide by thread guidelines are not welcome to post here. It's simple, straightforward & consistently applied. Example: Someone asserts, 'Bush lied to get his war for oil & Amreican Imperialism'. Those types of unsubstantiated opinions won't float here. They clearly are not reality based. They cannot be independently verified with credible evidence. In fact, they can be thoroughly debunked with a plethora of real, irrefutable evidence. ...."If individuals were capable of complete objectivity, then we wouldn't need jury trials." Key word - "if". You might as well say, 'if we lived in an alternate universe, then'..... The reality is that we live in this world where at best only a tiny fraction of the population comes remotely close to complete objectivity. This thread only slightly raises the bar on the rest of the world. It is a modest yet persistent attempt to expose reality defying opinion, achieve reality based discussions that in the end hopefully leads to reality based opinions. No more, no less.
