What would you call it, an "un-sustained offensive"? Does that fit, I don't think so. A "sustained defensive", no way.

An insurgency, or a series of guerilla attacks would be accurate. It isn't a single sustained action of any kind, and esp. not an offensive one. The only time sustained action occurs is when the insurgents are on the defense.

Action that starts and stops, isn't sustained, action that is often on the defensive, isn't a "sustained offensive".

And I will say unequivocally, without a bit of reservation, with 100% confidence, that...

The Generals and grunts in Iraq will say that the enemy has a "sustained offensive".

I'd say without a bit of reservation that they would say no such thing.

I suspect your next response will be 5000 words trying to defend your semantic anal retentive stupidity... LOL

I guess I should expect most of your response to try to cover for factual inaccuracies, or misuse of terms by attacking the other party of the conversation. This wasn't your posting pattern before Bush was elected, I don't know what caused the change. Are you that bitter about the Republicans being in power?
