Iraq has been one giant screw up. This has nothing to do with going there in the first place which i felt was warranted. It has to do with running the post war war which has not been pretty. The pics of saddam are the last straw for me. We cant control the situation on the ground in iraq, we cant control miscreants and jokesters in our own forces. We give the enemies of the US abroad fodder for preaching their horrific message while giving move on.org at home its raison d'etre. I know this wont play well on this thread but its time we give the Iraqis a timeline for US withdrawl. In that year, let them take charge of their country or not. We cant babysit these boys forever. Tough love is the only love we have left to give to the new iraq. They all want us out anyway but only on their terms--even Iran--well i say out on our terms. If we get three states so be it. If iran has influence in the shiaa region, it is only natural and perhaps the iranian students one day will turn out to be good mentors for the iraqis. At least the kurds will be free and if the sunnis choose anarchy so be that as well. Mike
