According to this Fox News poll, Rudy would beat Spitzer as Gov., but Hillary would keep her Senate seat against him. And if you look at the actual poll data, Bill Clinton has higher favorable ratings than Rudy.

2006 New York Senate and Governor Race

A Fox News Poll of New York has Hillary Clinton leading all potential Republican challengers (to her Senate seat). She defeats Rudy Giuliani 53%-43%, George Pataki 59%-36%, Jeanine Pirro 60%-24%, and Edward Cox 58%-25%.

In the Gubernatorial race, Eliot Spitzer leads George Pataki 55%-38%, but loses to Rudy Giuliani 50%-42%.

However, in the event of a Presidential contest between Giuliani and Clinton, or any Democratic candidate for that matter, the former NYC Mayor leads.

Gives me the creeps that prosecutor is now viewed as a stepping stone to higher elected office. Political prosecutors are a plague on the criminal justice system.
