Afghan President Hamid Karzai said on Saturday he was shocked by a U.S. Army report on abuse of detainees in Afghanistan, saying his government wanted custody of all Afghan prisoners and control over U.S. military operations.

I think Mr. Karzai has forgotten his place and is believing his own propaganda. Surely someone will remind him of this fact soon enough to save the US investment in him...but if he will not be reasoned with, then I guess Bush will have to cut his losses.

Let's start a pool as to how long before he joins the ranks of Saddam, Chalabi, Noriega, and so on and is done for. Any takers on the bet?
