The snub-nose .38 is pretty small, but I think there are even smaller revolvers. You'd have to go to a gun dealer to find one that suits you.

If you have a right to carry permit and want protection you should look into a .380 auto. It's a 9mm short, won't blow body parts into the next county but can make a person pretty sick. Some 6 shot autos are pretty small.
