The political climate is already too nasty for my sensibilities.

Politics is rough-and-tumble tough game even in the best of times. But I do agree with you that the recent past has seen a deterioration in the quality of the argumentation and a rise in its temperature.

The debate on judicial appointments in the Senate is a travesty. It's a childrens' tit-for-tat game which can only end badly.

I lay blame for the start of this on the witch's brew concocted by the Clintons and Gingrich. It's a long thought which I don't have time to fully develop here today. But in my estimation, those three changed the nature of politics forever and, obviously, not for the better. Their synergies were truly toxic.

High dudgeon does not make for good discourse. It impairs dispassionate judgment.

Gotta go now.
