Amen brother. The way I see it - there is no Social Security problem - you simply means test the payments when the time comes. Absolutely no one would be harmed.

As for energy - there is no such simple solution.

One helpful item would be to move all the early Presidential Primaries & Caucuses out of the grain belt states. Candidates learn they have to make pro-ethanol noises or they get shut out.

There are competing "scientific " studies of the cost effectiveness of ethanol, funded by different sides,which come to opposite conclusions. Makes the global warming discussion look like a model of honesty.

Ethanol from cellulose (not corn) might be useful and economic, or not.
