I recognize there is something called the Geneva Convention, which we have to abide by. Which is why I asked a question in an earlier post :

Kumar,
Somehow I missed the earlier post.
I agree with you Saddam is not protected under the Geneva protocols.
He is, however, being treated as if he were.

I don't recall anything I ever learned about the rules of war prohibiting casual photos of prisoners or anything else. If such are prohibited, I am guilty. But I'm sure they are not. Every "A" Team carries a nifty camera pack and uses it often.

Saddam Hussein is a master criminal and murderer of the worst kind.
The real crime here is allowing the NYT to label the photograph of him in shorts as prisoner abuse...if only by inference.

The real shame here is that some Americans are buying this crock of NYT BS.

Another comment re. the rules of war.

A friend of mine spoke to the SFer who was pulling the pin on the grenade in his hand while standing over Saddam's hole. He was pulling the pin to drop the grenade in the hole, when he saw two extended hands trying to come out of the bunker or cesspool or whatever it was.

He pushed the pin back in and allowed him to surrender.

He could have dropped the grenade and nobody would have ever questioned the decision. Who knows what else was behind those hands? More likely is that others would have thrown more grenades after his before entering the bunker to search it.

We allow Janet Jackson to wave her tit at us. We have porno on prime time cable tv. We have a playboy channel. But the MSM says we cannot see a man in BVDs and the Pentagon buys that BS.

Pathetic.
