Sounds like a shift in sentiment. Means a lot if the FED does that.

Seems to me that the markets have become much more anticipatory these days with the rise of the hedge fund industry and financial speculation in general. Massive T bond purchases by foreign CBs has further altered Treasury bond market dynamics as has the massive leveraging of the economy

In past cycles, bond yields generally did not come down much until AFTER a Fed tightening campaign triggered economic weakness.

Very different from the current cycle to put it mildly.
