Bushies will be defeated by moderates of both parties, not liberals. Liberals are fairly irrelevant now except as a balancing factor against the far right zealots. It's the moderates who can swing all the big elections, put Delay in jail and impeach Bush-Cheney. The liberals will cheer and add fuel to the fire, but they will not be the point men.

By the way, there are very few real liberals left in power. Maybe 10% of the congress. Leaders like Harry Reid and Harold Ford are not liberals. They are centrists. Kerry and Hillary Clinton are moderate-liberals, but more conservative than Bush on fiscal matters.

Meanwhile the GOP leadership has skewed to the hard ultra rightwing supply side and religious right on almost every issue, including wanting to scrap Social Security, stop stem cell research and crack down on civil liberties.
