Duke, the big problem I had with multi-core is the sheer difficulty of programming multithreaded applications. But I think with the multi-core PlayStation 3, we'll start seeing games in general start taking real advantage of multiple cores in order to bring a richer, more realistic experience. The financial incentive is certainly there, given the size of the video game market, and the techniques will transfer easily toward games for the PC. And then they will transfer further to other applications, such as user interfaces (just my WAG).
