if we expect muslims to be more tolerant we need to do the same. and lead by example. The US has probably the most diverse collection of people living together on the planet. How much more "tolerant" or an "example" can a country become? Declaring tyrrany, discrimination and lack of individual freedom unacceptable is not intolerant, it is liberating for the oppressed and those who are discriminated against. Shias, the majority population in Iraq, were not allowed to practice many of their religious rituals under Saddam. Allowing him to continue to oppress the Shias is not a good exmample of "tolerance".
