Around Cardston Alberta there are a lot of mormons, or used to be anyway, and they pretty much ran the place according to mormon rules .... well, an uncle of mine by marriage, born in Missouri actually, used to make a good part of his living supplying horses to bootleggers in the area, aiding them in various ways, and peddling the odd bottle himself ... this was before, during, and after prohibition in Canada, which was earlier and of shorter duration than the US attempt ... during the US prohibition years a lot of the trade was through traffic of course, but always there was a brisk local business too ... many a story was told of people who said one thing, and did another

Messiahs and prophets get old quite inevitably, maybe, as their plans get twisted by their self-professed followers ... we can only hope that one day a backbencher in God's Parliament will rise on a point of order, and say hey guys, let's start up a schedule of regular messiah-renewal, this One-Christ One-Time business is not working out for us
