It won't matter if Republicans are able to cement their gains this session. These judgeships are for life and they have very far reaching implications. At some point, Republicans codify their minority views into law and precedent and it will be TOO LATE for moderate Republicans to do anything about it.

Next up, of course, is the fight for the Supremes in the summer. If it's a shoe-in for 51 Republicans to get anyone they want, it won't matter what Dems or Reps think.

The vast majority of Americans think that the filibuster is fine. Do Republicans care? Nope, they're don't give a rip because they answer only to the tiniest of minorities.
