Wrong, Reagan's economy had a big flaw. Like Bush's it was debt and tax cut-driven. It was also based on military spending and plundering the environment. His entire military build-up and the S+L debacle went on the national credit card and it took 7-8 years to pay off the debts he left us. That's whyb Bush Sr. had to raise taxes.

Bush's deficits are much worse. It may take decades to pay them off. So Reagan was much better than Bush in the economy.

Reagan did give us some positive years, I don't deny that, but the rightwing's claim that it was a sustainable economy are false. Like Bush, he charged a lot of it. He also deregulated too much, allowing the S+L debacle to happen. That cost us about 300 billion.

Sorry pal, that honor goes to Clinton, who also paid off all of Reagan's "voodoo" economic debt. Now we need two or three Clintons to pay off Dumbya's unprecedented deficits. Dumbya never says "supply side" or "trickle down", but he's a voodoo guy too. Dumbya's also like LBJ in a way, he wants guns AND butter at the same time, but he puts it on the national credit card. Tax cuts in wartime makes war pain-free, but it will cost your kids.

Reagan gave us the 2nd biggest debt in history. second only to GW Bush's. See a pattern there?

Anyone can have a great time charging a spending spree. But who pays for it later?
