I understand federalism just fine. I'm a big supporter of it, until and unless it runs afoul of the constitution, which I also understand, in my lay sort of a way. My understanding is that the basic rights we are guaranteed under the constitution trump state law and that one of those rights (unenumerated) is the right to be the king of our respective castles so long as we aren't victimizing anyone there. Seems to me that that Lawrence vs Texas came out just right.

Well, you've certainly revealed yourself as someone who really, really doesn't get it.

So, to get back to the point to which you responded, why is it that you think that liberals and libertarians would not equally support the outcome of that case?
