Jimmy Carter was a centrist. In case you aren't a history student, Carter beat Ted Kennedy who ran well to the left of him. Carter was foremost a devout Christian, rural family man, ex-Naval officer and farmer. He is and was everything many conservative politicians like Bush pretend to be but aren't really. In fact, Carter is the only truly Christian country man president we have had in our lifetimes. All the others have just been poseurs.

Reagan was a movie star and GW Bush a elite preppy Presdient's won from New England transplanted to the Texas oil business. Bush is what they call all boots, no cowboy, a guy who's never even owned livestock but has a show-off ranch.

carter was the real deal.

"Lefties" dont win landslides in Georgia, numbskull. Georgia is a very conservative state. Carter was not a rightwinger dixiecrat like Zell Miller, he was an enlightened progressive "New South" centrist who managed to unite black and white voters through his sheer inner honesty and goodness.

The Bush GOP works hard to divide black and white voters, and uses voter fraud against blacks to win elections.

Carter is everything the religious right claims to be but isn't. A real Christian.
