Newsweek did the ethical thing and retracted, just in case that would save any lives, but since then other sources have come out about Koran abuse. The real crime here is that the White House once again takes it on itself to try and blame it's own problems on the messengers in the media. The White House used single anonymous sources all the time in making it's poorly-confirmed argument about WMD's in Iraq. In fact it went even further and used proven lies, liars and double-speak. It is Bush's methods in Iraq which have inflamed the Muslim world. After 9-11 things had calmed down. We could have made so much progress if Bush had been honest. Now they're worse than ever. ALl because of Bush's lies. Not the press.
