i have heard of 5 cents a gallon never 54 cents a gallon.

Now researchers at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois report that you get 25 percent more energy out of a gallon of ethanol than it takes to grow the corn, transport it and distill it.

I had not heard that, if true I guess its good news.

I agree with the rest of the article. The ethanol industry in the US is one of the larger cases of corporate welfare / pork.
