That wouldnt be my first choice but neither is this current mess we are in brought to us by guys who cant admit and error or correct one. LBJ and MacNamara live on.


I don't think the current mess is nearly as bad as it's being reported and in the end, results are what matter. If Iraq dissolves into chaos, your pessimism is justified. If, as looks more likely to me, Iraq wins some form of stability, it will be a huge benefit for the Mideast, and we'll see even more of the "Arab Spring" than we do already in Lebanon and Egypt and other places. Zarqawi is doing us a favor by being such a depraved butcher than even al Jazeera is having to tone down support of the 'brave resistance'.
